Our clinic has received Energy Outreach Colorado (EOC) funding for the past 15 years. EOC is an organization that provides energy assistance to many of our families. We value EOC and their programs are so helpful to many in our community. Denver Indian Health & Family Services' (DIHFS) mission is to provide culturally competent services that promote health and well being of our patients. Providing energy assistance services has helped support our mission also while lessening the hardship many families live with every day.  

​Diabetes is one of the most common medical conditions in the United States. If you have diabetes, it means your body either cannot make or properly use insulin. Insulin is a hormone that is made by the pancreas. It allows the body to take sugar (glucose) from carbohydrates found in the food that we eat and use it for energy. Insulin also helps keep your blood sugar level from getting too high or too low.
