Welcome to the Nutrition Nook!
At Denver Indian Health and Family Services we believe food is medicine. Our Registered Dietitian can provide nutrition counseling and resources with the goal of helping people feel confident in making healthy nutrition choices and reducing disease risk. We offer a variety of different nutrition services, including incorporation of traditional foods, budget friendly meals, meal preparation skills, one-on-one nutrition counseling, and more.
Nutrition Counseling
Nutrition counseling is free to those who are tribally enrolled in a federally recognized tribe. There may be a co-pay associated for those not tribally enrolled, depending on insurance. To sign up for nutrition counseling, call our dietitian at 303-953-6604. |
My Native Plate
My Native Plate is a guide from Indian Health Services to help you eat healthy. Fill half your plate with vegetables, 1/4 plate with whole grains, 1/4 plate with lean proteins, and a portion of fruit. This can help lower disease risks, help manage heart disease and diabetes, and promote a healthy weight. To learn more, schedule an appointment with the dietitian today by calling 303-953-6604.
